Step Challenge Update
Over the past 28 days, I successfully completed my challenge by averaging 7,534 steps per day, boosted by strong weekends.
Weekends averaged about 10,428 steps, while weekdays came in at 6,377, and Thursdays were my least active days with an average of 4,412 steps.
I feel so much better for this. It made me realise just how easy it is to "touch grass" and unplug for 45-60 minutes.
It was also really interesting to see how much more you can learn about your local environment. I saw things I've never seen before, even though I've been driving around these streets for the last four years.

A dazzling view of an electricity pylon, seen on a walk
An unloved bench that we saw on a walk. It is completely covered in moss.
The biggest takeway for me is to just get up and go. Making a dent in the daily step count early, you've basically sorted the day. If you leave it late, you're making life harder for yourself. I really ought to go for a 10 minute walk around the block to "commute" when I work from home... I didn't do that yet, but perhaps I will next month.
My next challenge is going to be starting to look at improving my diet, and how I can make further positive changes to influence my health, happiness, and general well-being.
