Week Notes - 2026-12
We are now rapidly approaching 25% of the way through the year, or to put it a different way just 276 days until Christmas! ๐
The highlight of the week was the news that we're getting new Tom Scott videos starting tomorrow. See more here... New Monday habit incoming!
This week I've had some thoughts about cutting my screen time - in particular, time spent mindlessly on my phone. I've started by removing most of the time sinks from my phone. The plan is to access them on my tablet or PC instead. Both of these have higher friction, so I should hopefully read a book, or perhaps play a game instead.
I read a post about Old PC Games on Cereal Boxes by JoelChrono, and instantly had flashbacks to the copy of Age of Empires I had as a kid.
Things I did
- Keeping an eye on what I'm eating has made my realise I eat a load of garbage. I need to be harsh with myself. I need to remove temptations! Preparing a Huel shake the night before has really helped me in the mornings, and the ease of preparing a Hot Huel for lunch is great but if there's icecream in the freezer, well, now there's no icecream in the freezer. :(
- I'm continuing to read Azure Bonds. I should finish at some point this week!
- I also bought a few games in the Steam sale, and I've been playing those. Vampires Survivors, and BALL x PIT are fun! Looking forward to getting stuck into Planet Coaster 2 soon!
- I got to spend some time with Dragon Quest II and in fact I just got to the best part of any Dragon Quest game... obtaining the ship!
